UPDATE: I-10 East is now OPEN following two crashes near the Scott exit.
The roadway was temporarily closed while crews worked to remove the vehicles from the roadway. The shutdown lasted for about 45 minutes on Tuesday morning. A wrecker was on scene to remove the vehicles. The Scott Fire Department was also on scene.
The first crash occurred around 8:00 am in front of Cajun Harley Davidson. Chief Leger said the crash was minor and that no injuries were sustained.
While traffic was backing up behind that crash, Leger says another crash occurred involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck carrying a tractor. The pickup attempted to avoid the 18-wheeler and hit the back of the vehicle. The pickup’s trailer carrying the tractor overturned onto the roadway.
No injuries were sustained in that crash, according to Chief Leger.
