LOPA, Lafayette General Medical Center and Southern Eye Bank hosted a flag-raising ceremony featuring sand art designed by family members of organ donors.

“To get a match for a lung transplant, there’s three criteria, your blood type and your size,” Lena Myers, Recipient-In-Waiting. “The person needs to be shorter than me, because your cavity is according to your size. And the antibodies. My disease and my being a woman that had a baby, my antibodies are higher, which my pool to match is very narrow.”
