Over $342K in crystal meth seized from Lafayette residence

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office says that over $342,000 worth of illegal narcotics were seized on Tuesday, including four pounds of crystal meth.

Deputies say that a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 200 block of Verot School Road on Tuesday. There, investigators say that approximately 4.1 pounds of Crystal Meth, 4 Diphenhydramine tablets, 4 Gabapentin tablets, and one digital scale were discovered.

The Sheriff’s Office determined the street value of the meth at $342,400.

On person, identified as Rayniece Marie Simon, 27, was arrested and booked on the following charges:

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Crystal Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Legend Drug
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Simon’s bond is set at $505,000.
