Tuesday night, Lafayette Parish Talented Program presented an arts festival showcasing students.
The Multidisciplinary Arts Festival which is happening from March 6 until March 30, showcased students in visual, music, and theater performances.
According to LPSS, the Talented Program fosters the development of artistic talents in students from kindergarten through 12th-grade identified by the Louisiana State Department of Education as having extraordinary talent in Music, Theatre or Visual Art.
“Talented is children who have a natural ability in the arts,” says Talented Teacher Amanda Newberry. “They go through a state test, which is done by state evaluators and it takes about a year to get in.”
