The Lafayette Parish School Board meets in special session tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
The board will begin discussions surrounding the cost centers in the 2019-20 budget, and discuss adding three in-service days to the calendar of the school year that starts in August 2019.
The calendar change would replace three PK -12th-grade student attendance days with three days of professional development devoted to training for a new English curriculum. The days added would be September 16, December 2 and February 27. The board will be asked to give final approval to the change at its April 10 meeting.
The budget discussion will begin with a review of projected revenues for the next fiscal year, and continue with detailed discussions about individual cost centers.
