A Breaux Bridge man was arrested and booked on drug charges after crashing his vehicle into a barrier and fleeing the scene in Scott.
Scott Police say they were called to the scene of a crash around 6:30 pm on Thursday, March 21. A Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputy who witnessed the crash told police that a white Toyota Corolla traveling south on Mills Street missed the curve at Delhomme Ave and crashed into a barrier.

According to the deputy, a driver, identified as 32-year-old Harris J. Gobar, II of Breaux Bridge, fled the vehicle following the crash. Police say that Gobar attempted to hide in a cemetery on Cameron Street.
Investigators say that a search of the car uncovered bags containing marijuana, crack cocaine, heroin, and Suboxone.
Gobar was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I, Possession of Schedule II, Possession of
Schedule III, and Hit and Run, in addition to being cited for Driving Under Suspension.
No bond has been set at this time
