There was a buzz in the air outside Lafayette City Hall on Wednesday after a swarm of bees decided to take up residence in a nearby tree.

LCG shared a video to their Facebook page showing the bees clumped together on a tree branch and the process of having them removed.

Lowell Duhon, LCG’s Chief Administrative Officer and “bee enthusiast,” helped to safely remove the insects from the premises. In the video, Duhon can be seen cutting the branch from the tree and carefully descending a ladder before placing the bees into a cardboard box.

LCG says that anyone who finds a swarm of bees near their residence or business should contact the Acadiana Beekeepers Association to arrange for safe removal.
