100 students from Lafayette Parish schools attended workshops for Blank Page Poetry Day.
The workshops were held at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard Art Museum, with students writing their own poems and learning from Louisiana Poet Laureate Jack Bedell.
“Teachers have done a wonderful job, particularly in Louisiana and South Louisiana, in promoting the value of culture, the value of voice, and the value of begin expressive in your own opinions and not keeping them to yourself,” said Bedell.
