Biannual Friends of Library Book Sale set for later this month

Lafayette Parish Friends of the Library will hold its biannual Book Sale in the Heymann Center ballroom starting Wednesday, March 27.

The first day’s sale will be for members only, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm; you can join for $5 at the door.

The public is invited for the rest of the sale on Thursday, March 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Friday, March 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sat., March 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Books are sold by the inch — $1 per inch for hard backs and 50 cents per inch for paperbacks.  Vinyl, DVDs, audio books, and CDs are priced individually.

Beginning on the Wednesday of the sale, in lieu of our Silent Auction held in the past, Friends will have a “Special Books” table featuring individually prices books sold separately.  The books will be sold for $10 — $40 and will include books of special interests–first edition books, books autographed by the author, and over-sized books including coffee table books.

So far, the Friends have donated $825,016.27 to the Lafayette Public Library.  Their goal is to donate a million.
