SOFA – Service, Outreach, Furniture, Acadiana – is asking for donations of furniture.
The agency provides furniture for Lafayette Parish residents who have either been homeless, come from an abusive relationship or suffered fire, flood or other disaster.
Because of the recent fire at Maison Lafitte apartment complex there’s been a huge increase in the number of requests for furniture, a spokeswoman said.
SOFA has a need for all kinds of furniture including mattresses and box springs. Currently they don’t have any dressers, chest of drawers or tables and chairs.
If you don’t have any furniture to donate but you have some time, they can always use volunteers, too.
