A mule decided to take part in the morning commute today.
Emergency officials were called around 7:00 am about a horse running free on Johnston Street near Maurice. Video shared with KATC showed the animal running down the roadway as cars tried to pass.
The mule was later captured in the parking lot of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice.
It does not appear that the animal was injured. It is unknown at this time where the horse came from or how it got free.
KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was at the scene this morning. The animal is being held until the owner can claim it.
