The St. Landry Parish Cattlemen’s Association is bringing the heat with their “Here’s the Beef” Cook-off.
Their 34th annual cook-off is going on at the Ag Arena in Opelousas.
Cook-off categories include brisket, roast, stew or rice and gravy, tongue, ground meat, miscellaneous, and gourmet,
The booth with the best décor and the best dressed team will also be recognized.
The overall champion will receive $100 and a plaque.
The cook-off started the day with a trail ride at 8 a.m.
It’s not just meat; there is also live music and a fun jump for kids.
