Some students at Carencro Middle School are learning more about their roots during black history month.
Thursday, skits and dances were held during the school’s annual program.
“You need to live up to your own expectations and your own origins. So that’s why it’s very important to know who you are and where you came from,” said principal Ebony Moten.
The performances focused on the migration of black people and the legacy left behind by some notable leaders .
