Vermilionville is celebrating the Mardi Gras season with an old fashioned courir.
The annual event includes a chicken chase, king-cake making and an entire celebration of Cajun foodways.
It will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24.
“We want to emphasize that it’s a family event as are all events here at Vermilionville,” Melanie Harrington, Education Coordinator. “Especially for families who want to introduce their children to what a traditional courir might be. This creates a very accessible traditional run where families can come.”
Admission is $5 per person ($4 for members) and ages three and under are admitted free.
