LAFAYETTE – Prom is just around the corner and in Lafayette, teens in need looking for their perfect dress are getting some help with the shopping.

At the Northgate Mall on Saturday, February 16, 2019, donated dresses will be available for free. The Butterfly Effect Project says the giveaway is open to all teens in Acadiana.

Each shopper must have a valid school ID.

The event happens from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and will feature a magic mirror photo booth, gifts and more. Shoppers will also be able to purchase affordable accessories.

Over the past weeks, donations were collected at different clothing and gift stores in Acadiana for the big day.

“This is a unique opportunity for girls to shine and boost their self-esteem and overall confidence,” The Butterfly Project organizers said in a release.

A recent post on Facebook shows that organizers are ready.
