Southside High School is paying tribute to great leaders during Black History Month.
Librarians teamed up with the students in the Art Club to create a poster showcasing African American artists, athletes and politicians throughout history.
The poster is joined by several books for students to read when they enter the library.
“It’s a reminder that because of these people on it, that us African American students get to be a part of this society and in this school and be able to be on this campus,” said Desarae Thibodeaux, Art Club member.
