A church in Lafayette is giving people a reason to shine.
It was prom night for some at One Church of Acadiana as they partnered with the Tim Tebow Foundation to host Night to Shine.
Night to Shine gives people with special needs 14 and older the opportunity to experience prom.
Before entering prom, guests are greeted by cheering crowds and flashing cameras as they walk the red carpet.
Once inside, prom-goers receive the royal treatment: hair and makeup, shoe shining, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, catered dinner, karaoke, and prom favors.
Guests are able to show off their moves on the dance floor before each guest is crowned king or queen of the prom.
According to Pastor Bobby Richard, over 300 volunteers made tonight’s event possible.
