Tonight, the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever, but it’s safe to say some people in Acadiana didn’t see the game.

Local restaurants and bars aired Super Bowl XLIV when the Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts in 2010. Among the eateries was Smitty’s Wings in Lafayette.

Saints fans who believe their team was cheated in the NFC Championship Game had a safe space at the locally-owned bar.

“We are just all trying to grieve together as a fan base. This is a perfect opportunity to embrace the Super Bowl game and as well as being around people who are grieving as well,” Tricia Fontenot said.

Customers enjoyed food, fun, drinks and more while celebrating Super  Sunday.

“Well, the Saints have been robbed, and they deserve to be in the Super Bowl. I’m a bit emotional,” another fan said.

Here’s to next year!
