A 13-year-old has been arrested, accused of threatening students at a school in Lafayette.

Lafayette Police says they arrested the student on Thursday at around 2:00 p.m. following an investigation.

The student has been charged with terrorizing after officers say he made threatening statements to fellow students at a local school that he attends.

KATC has learned that the incident did not occur at a public school in Lafayette, according to LPSS.

He was booked into the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center.

Several parents at LCA have sent in screenshots of a report of a threat earlier today where a police presence was required. Lafayette Police could not confirm or deny that this was the incident in question.

*KATC has inquired to the Lafayette Police Department for clarification but they could provide us with the name of the school where the threats were made.
