BROUSSARD, La. — Today, officials from Leonardo Helicopters celebrated the grand opening of the company’s Gulf of Mexico Support Center in Broussard. Leonardo Helicopters is a global leader in the production of military and commercial rotorcraft with more than 100 years of operating in the aerospace industry.

The company plans to have 15 employees in 2019 and increase to 30 employees by 2023.

The Leonardo Helicopters Gulf of Mexico Support Center is a 21,000 square foot facility that will provide blade repair, spare parts and technical support. There are more tha 700 Leonardo helicopters in service across the Americas whose owners and operators are poised to benefit from this opening.

“The team we’re assembling in Broussard has decades of experience working in aviation and rotor blade repair,” said Troy Penny, general manager of the facility. “We’re looking forward to providing the highest quality product and service to our Leonardo customers.”
