Bird and Lime scooters are officially no longer an amenity offered in Lafayette.

As KATC previously reported, Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux asked that the motorized scooters be pulled because he says the city cannot legally accommodate them.

If you visit Bird’s website, Lafayette is still listed as one of their cities the company services; however, a note on the app shows Bird has been removed.

The note reads:

“Goodbyes are no fun. Thank you for believing in our vision of a world with fewer cars and cleaner air. We’re working hard to see you again.”

Bird says goodbye

Lafayette is no longer listed on Lime’s website.

Lafayette was the first city in the state with Bird and Lime scooters. As of now, Bird nor Lime are offered in Louisiana.
