Organizers with the Atchafalaya Basinkeepers are hosting the 5th annual Save the Basin event in Lafayette.
Guest speakers will meet at Artmosphere on Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm to discuss the organization’s achievements so far, and its obstacles still to come.
Enjoy the unique Cajun-inspired works of more than 30 local artists, silent auction and live music by Michael Doucet, Viator & French, Yvette Landry, Hasbeans, Stump Jumpers and Huval Family Band.
Every attendee receives a raffle ticket for a swamp tour for up to six people with Basinkeeper Dean Wilson. The first 50 members attending, receive a free Patagonia Frisbee. Donate $10 along with your ticket price and receive a year-long membership to Atchafalaya Basinkeeper.
Guests speakers Senator Fred Mills, Mayor Collett, Jody Meche, President of Louisiana Crawfish Producers Association-West, and ABK’s own Dean Wilson, will be discussing the organizations’ most critical achievements in the Basin and some the most troublesome hurdles to date facing progress in conservation.
Admission is $10
Artmosphere is located at 910 Johnston Street in Lafayette.
All the money raised from the event will go into basin protection and restoration efforts.
