Two people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into what police are calling a clandestine lab in Youngsville.
The lab was located in the 100 block of Madison Woods Drive. That incident was originally reported as a meth lab occurred on Jan. 8.
The following arrests were made on the following charges. (Photos of the two arrested were not immediately available.)
44-year-old Charles Bryant Kountz, II
Kountz was booked on the following charges:
- 1 count-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- 1 count-Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana
- 1 count-Illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under the age of seventeen years of age
- 1 count- Violation of uniform controlled dangerous substances in a drug free zone
- 1 count- Creation or operation of a clandestine lab within 1000 feet of school property
- 1 count-second subsequent offense
- 1 count-Possession of Hypodermic Needles
- 1 count unlawful production of Hallucinogenic plants
37-year-old Kayla Goins Kountz was also arrested and booked on the following charges:
- 1 count-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- 1 count-Possession with intent to Distribute Marijuana
- 1 count-Illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under the age of seventeen years of age
- 1 count- Violation of uniform controlled dangerous substances in a drug free zone
- 1 count- Creation or operation of a clandestine lab within 1000 feet of school property
Chief Rickey Boudreaux confirms the couple owns the Youngsville business Aromatic Infusions. The business was searched Jan. 8. Details of the search are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
D.E.A., Homeland Security, Louisiana State Police Haz Mat Division, Lafayette Parish Fire Department Haz Mat Division, and Youngsville Fire Department assisted in this investigation.
