Construction is underway for a new bank on Camellia Boulevard in Lafayette.
City officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for First National Bank of Jeanerette.
The building will also host other businesses including a coffee shop and State Farm.
It’s expected to open by next year.
“It’s been a great opportunity for us to come to Lafayette,” said Damon Migues, President and CEO of First National Bank of Jeanerette. “We have a large customer base that we’ve been servicing from a good ways away. So our customers are excited, we’re excited. We’re going to do something unique.”
