The suspect in Thursday’s fatal shooting at a Lafayette motel is in jail.
Twenty-seven-year-old Nicholas Hebert, of Lafayette, was arrested Saturday after an arrest warrant for second-degree murder was issued the day prior.
Hebert is accused of killing 48-year-old Frederick Richardson, of Baton Rouge, at Super 7 Inn on NE Evangeline Thruway.
Police found Richardson at the motel, suffering from at least one gun shot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
A spokeswoman for the police department says their special investigations unit received assistance from U.S. Marshals and their Violent Offenders Task Force.
