Youngsville Fire Dept. ceases some emergency responses due to budget cuts

The Youngsville Fire Department will cease to provide the following emergency response services in the unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish effective January 1, 2019:

·         Medical Incidents

·         Vehicle Accidents

·         Trash Fires

·         Gas Leaks

·         Investigations (Not Related to Structure Fires)

·         Hazardous Materials Incidents

·         Dumpster Fires

·         Vehicle Fires

·         Other Incidents Not Structural in Nature

These emergency response services are ceasing due to budget cuts and changes to payments for services from the Lafayette Consolidated Government, according to a press release from the Youngsville Fire Dept.

The Youngsville Fire Department will continue providing emergency response services to structure fires and structural fire alarms within the unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish until funding from the Lafayette Consolidated Government ceases.
