ORIGINAL STORY: Duson Police are looking for a couple who allegedly stole money from a casino in Duson.

The woman, identified as Abby Doan, lured the cashier away from her cash drawer, and while the cashier was occupied the man, identified as Cary Bastian, reached into the drawer and stole all the money in the drawer.

“The incident was premeditated and likely has occurred to other businesses in the past,” a release from Duson Police states. “All retail outlets should be on guard if this couple is encountered in their establishments.”

Anyone who knows where Bastian and Doan are should call Crime Stoppers at 337-232-8477.

Back in 2015, Bastian was wanted by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office for stealing crawfish. He allegedly was spotted by a witness stuffing bags of crawfish into the trunk of his car; he was accused of stealing them off the fisherman’s property. Deputies and wildlife agents spotted him soon after, and he led them on a high-speed chase. Eventually he escaped into some woods near his home.

He also has a criminal record in Lafayette; in 2010 he pleaded guilty to a theft charge after being accused of stealing three weed eaters. He was given a suspended sentence and probation for that charge.
