The Blue Dog Café in Lafayette will be closing its doors for a little over two weeks in order to update the restaurant.

The owner, Jacque Rodrigue says they will kick off the new year with a variety of interior updates which are set to take place between Wednesday, January 2, 2019, and Friday, January 18, 2019.

“From the addition of our new executive chef, Ryan Trahan, to the introduction of a variety of new menu options, 2018 has been a transformative year for Blue Dog Café and we’re excited to kickstart 2019 with the same enthusiasm,” said Rodrigue.

The renovations-which will mainly include major enhancements to the restaurant’s kitchen-area, part of a larger interior revamp set to take place over the course of 2019.

“These functional updates will increase efficiency within the kitchen and give Ryan, along with the rest of our staff, the tools they need to be successful. We also look forward to even more phases of cosmetic updates throughout 2019,” Rodrigue said.

For guests who want to eat at the restaurant before its two-week closure, Blue Dog Café will be hosting a special $45  New Year’s Eve dinner from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31st.
