Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies and city police officers responded to a disturbance at The District Event Center Saturday night.
Witnesses reported a heavy police presence shortly before 11 p.m. around the event center on Johnston Street and that the building was evacuated after a fight broke out at a 16-year-old’s birthday party.
Police confirmed they responded to a “disturbance” and that officers were just “clearing the crowds.”
