A Lafayette jury convicted 45-year-old Isame Henry Faciane of five counts of Aggravated Crimes Against Nature this week.

Faciane was indicted in 2017, accused of molesting the child, who is a family member, over a period of several years.

The jury, consisting of three men and three women, heard from the investigating officer, the victim, her mother, and other witnesses.

The defendant will be sentenced in early 2019 and faces potentially 5-20 years on each of the 5 counts and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kenneth P. Hebert. The case was investigated by Detective Robbie White with the Lafayette Police Department.
