Lafayette Police: Bomb threat at Lafayette hotel was false report

The Layette Police Department says that the report of a bomb threat at a Lafayette motel was a false report.

Lafayette Police were called out to the Extended Stay America located S. Hugh Wallis Rd. in reference to a bomb threat Thursday evening. An evacuation was conducted for the safety of all motel guests. 

Police say that bomb threat was found to be false; however, a search was conducted of the motel to confirm.

At this time no arrests have been made in reference to the incident.

Lafayette police say that a Lafayette hotel is clear after being evacuated because of a bomb threat on Thursday night.

The Extended Stay America on Hugh Wallis Road near Kaliste Saloom Road was evacuated after they received a report of a bomb threat. Police worked into the night to determine if there was any actual threat to those in the area.

Lafayette police say that no explosives were found at the hotel and hotel occupants were allowed to return after the building was cleared.

Businesses in the area were also evacuated as a precaution while police investigated the threat.

KATC’s Justice Henderson was on the scene with updates on Thursday night.
