Getting pulled over in Youngsville may be a good thing this week.
The Youngsville Police Department started its annual gift card giveaway to reward drivers who are following the law.
Officers say while it scares some people at first their reaction afterward is what makes this tradition rewarding.
“They more question ‘what am I getting pulled over for,’ cause normally it’s never a good thing when the police pull you over,” said Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux. “And then when they get one of the gift cards, it’s the smile that they get on their face at this time of the year.”
