A Florida man has been arrested after an investigation into several construction site burglaries in Lafayette.
Lafayette Police say that 27-year-old Joseph Zapata of Florida was arrested on Friday, November 30 in connection with a number of construction site burglaries that occurred from August to November 2018 in the Lafayette area.
A vehicle fitting the description of a suspect vehicle seen at a burglary site was located and stopped on Friday. Zapata was identified as the driver of that vehicle. Police say Zapata allegedly confessed to the construction site burglaries in the Lafayette area.
Zapata was arrested and booked on charges of five counts Simple Burglary. Additional charges are pending.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
