Posted

LAFAYETTE – The Alexandre Mouton House is decorated for Christmas.

The work of local florists will be featured in the historic home. Each room will be dressed in Yuletide greenery, ornaments and ribbon appropriate for a 19th century Christmas celebration.

The house was built by Jean Mouton circa 1800. His son, Alexandre, who was the first Democratic governor of Louisiana lived there in 1825.

From now until December 31, you can tour the house Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m – 4 p.m. Tickets range from $5-$2.

The house is located at 1122 Lafayette Street.
