A member of the Lafayette Olive Garden staff is looking for the owner of a military hat that was left at the restaurant a few months ago.
An older man and his wife spent some time looking for the hat while at the restaurant after it went missing, according to staff member Scott Bordelon. The two left after not being able to find it. The hat was discovered by staff after the two had left the restaurant.
Bordelon says that the hat was placed into the lost and found in hopes the owner would return to claim it. A few months have passed and that person has not come back for the hat. Staff would normally throw out lost items that have not been claimed, but the hat appears to hold sentimental value as it bears an Airborne division patch.
The cap is also pinned with a Parachutist Badge.
Bordelon says he hopes that someone will recognize the hat and help the Olive Garden staff reunite it with its owner.
