An early morning fire has destroyed a home in the 300 block of Gathe Lane in Lafayette, according to the Lafayette Fire Department.
Firefighters say the fire started around 2:00 am on Thursday, November 29. When firefighters arrived on scene they say the home was fully engulfed in flames. No one was home at the time.
Officials say that the home did sustain heavy fire damage as a result of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
