The Duson and Scott police departments, along with State Farm agent Bryan Schlesinger, are hosting their third annual toy drive.

From now until December 20, they will be giving the donations to dozens of families in need throughout their communities.

“So, being on patrol 90% of the time, we see those underprivileged families, and we have a desire in our hearts to want to help them because every child deserves a Christmas. We know, unfortunately, that some of them have not had that opportunity, so we just want to be able to do something to make that right for them,” said Lt. James Hodges with the Duson Police Department.

He said the departments have been able to identify which families are in need through being hands-on with the community. They will have the families at the department on Christmas or deliver the gifts to the different families.
