Mechanical Engineering students at UL are competing in a Robotics Competition tonight at Blackham Coliseum.

This semester’s theme is Indiana Jones. Student teams created robots to accomplish tasks related to the movies, such as collecting Sankara stones, retrieving the Holy Grail, collecting golden idols, saving Indy’s hat and keeping Shia LaBouef away.

Each task will either earn the team points or take away points. The team to come out on top will be named the winner.

Here’s one of the robots:

For the first hour of the event, attendees and judges can see the robots and ask teams about their design.

The competition starts at 6 p.m.

The contest will take place on Monday, November 19, 2018 in Blackham Coliseum. Before competing, attendees and judges will have time from 5-6PM to see the devices and ask the teams about their design. The competition will immediately follow.
