LPSS CAO Joe Craig says that school officials are investigating an incident in which a gun was reportedly pointed at a school bus traveling on West Congress Thursday afternoon.
Craig says that LPSS did not receive any calls about the incident but after learning about it through social media posts, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified. An investigation is happening Friday morning.
The Lafayette Police Department confirmed with KATC that the incident was reported to them at around 4:44 pm on Thursday. The department says a caller told them that a man in a black Dodge truck had reportedly pointed a gun at the school bus her child was riding. The bus was traveling on West Congress at the time.
The department says that no other calls were made about the incident.
