Acadiana swimmers to advance to LHSAA state champs

LAFAYETTE – Some of the fastest high school swimmers in Acadiana will soon be competing for state titles.

Today was the final meet of the LHSAA 2018 season for the SWLA District at the Robicheaux Recreation Center.

Many swimmers who competed today are advancing to the state meets in Sulphur next week.

Some swimmers even managed to break some records.

Jillian Barczyk of Ascension Episcopal broke her own 200-meter freestyle SWLA record with a time of 1:56.28.

Brennan Connor, a freshman at Jennings High School, broke the boys’ 200-meter freestyle SWLA record with a time of 1:46.68.

Annie Thompson of Lafayette High School broke the girls’ 200-meter individual medley SWLA record with a time of 2:10:08.
