The SMILE Community Action Agency celebrates 50 years this week.
Today, there was a community partners reception in the three parishes the agency covers: St. Martin, Iberia and Lafayette.
A balloon launch was part of the celebration.
“I think just the fact that we’re here today and so many people have come out to be a part of this celebration, so many people can give testimony to what SMILE has meant to their families, to what it’s meant to the community,” said SMILE CEO Craig Matthews. “I think that signifies why we’re here today and so we just want to celebrate. We want to have a great time and we want to continue to embrace the opportunities that lie before us.”
