The fire alarms went off at Prairie Elementary this morning after a fire started in a bathroom.
The fire was in a temporary building that houses a bathroom, a school system spokesman said.
The student were evacuated and no students were ever in danger, he said. The positive is that the smoke detectors and fire alarms all worked as they should, and the students were evacuated as they have practiced, he said.
The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire.
A spokesman for the Fire Department said someone set a roll of toilet paper on fire. He said investigators are still working on locating the culprit.
