The Lafayette Police department has released the name of the person who was struck on South College Road Thursday night in Lafayette.
Police say 46-year-old Clement A. Fruge Jr. was struck in the 1000 block of S. College Road after he entered the roadway for unknown reasons. Fruge was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Impairment, according to police, is not a factor for the driver in the incident. No citations were issued.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Division.
