Several service crews from Louisiana are heading to or are already stationed in Florida as Hurricane Michael makes his approach to the coast.

LUS says that a crew is already stationed in Tallahassee to assist after the Hurricane has passed. Crews from Entergy will be leaving from Louisiana around 10:30 am and will be making their way to Pensacola.

SLEMCO says a group of 22 people will be heading to Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Madison, Florida on Thursday morning to help restore power to hurricane-affected areas. Crews will consist of overhead linemen and servicemen, tree trimmers, mechanics, as well as, supervisory and safety personnel.

Vehicles and specialized equipment for tree removal and power restoration are also being mobilized.

On Wednesday, Hurricane Michael intensified into a dangerous Category 4 storm as it headed for the coast of the Florida panhandle. Michael is expected to push onshore just after 12:00 pm Wednesday and then move into Georgia by early Thursday morning.
