Fire departments from across the parish are holding a series of Town Hall Meetings to educate residents on the issues facing their departments.
The first town hall meeting to discuss the proposed tax to fund fire protection in the unincorporated areas. Those leaders say the tax would be used to fund equipment and personnel for each department to help them cover fires outside city limits.
The first town hall was held at the Carencro Community Center. A list of other town halls are below:
