It’s National Night Out – Here’s a list of activities in Acadiana

Tonight, millions of people across the country will gather for National Night Out events with local law enforcement.

These family-friendly events offer the public a chance to meet and talk to law enforcement officers, as well as fire fighters and other first responders.

The events are designed to promote partnerships between police and the community.

Here’s a list of some of the National Night Out events across Acadiana:

Broussard: St. Julien Park, located at 701 St. Nazaire Road, on the soccer side. Event begins at 5:00 pm. and includes fun jump, face painting, airbrush tattoos, balloon shaping, food and refreshments, a DJ, Safety Pup will make an appearance and one lucky young boy or girl will win a brand-new bicycle.

Carencro: Carencro Police and Fire Department, 110 Centennial Drive in Carencro, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Event will include food, games, fun jumps, a smoke house and door prizes.

Franklin: City Park Recreation Center, 500 Shine Forquier Drive in Franklin, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Lafayette: Martin Luther King Center, 309 Cora Street in Lafayette, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Event will include music, entertainment, food, games and displays by the Lafayette Fire Department, the Lafayette Police Department Mounted Unit, Motorcycle Unit, LPD Police ATAC Bus and LPD Police Command Bus.

Youngsville: Sugar Mill Pond, 220 Prescott Boulevard in Youngsville, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Event will include food, entertainment and fun.
