The City of Scott has closed the intersection of Old Spanish Trail at Apollo Rd for the construction of the new intersection on Monday.

The closure is expected to last until January.

Commuters should use Jenkins Rd. to Tabb Rd., L Provost Rd and JB Rd., and Westgate Rd. for North and South travel and/or Cameron St or Landry Rd. to Dulles Dr. for East and West travel.

The City of Scott would also like to remind drivers that the Fenetre Rd. Bridge is still closed with construction also expected to last until January 2019.

The intersection is highly utilized in the morning and afternoon commutes, officials say. Its closure will add additional vehicles on highly populated roadways at normal busy hours. Officials ask that motorists please make appropriate plans to leave your residence earlier or make other arrangements.

Due to the extensive demolition of the existing roadway, no through traffic or residents will be allowed through the intersection.
