Lafayette Police confirm that they are working a second shooting that happened early Sunday.
This incident happened shortly before 2 a.m., when officers working in the area heard gunshots near the intersection of Chestnut and Jefferson.
They didn’t find a victim or a suspect at the scene, but later a local hospital called to tell police that a person had arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound to their lower leg, a spokeswoman said.
The man said he didn’t know who shot him, but he did say it happened near the intersection of Chestnut and Jefferson, she said.
No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been identified at this time.
