The Lafayette Parish School System is working to take over the parish’s Head Start program.
The program is currently being managed by the Community Development Institute (CDI), which is an agency that works with the federal government.
School administrators say they’ll apply for the Head Start grant once it becomes available online, but the process can take up to three years.
