Over the past several months a number of law enforcement agencies have taken to social media to remind everyone to lock their car doors.
Last week Lafayette Police department responded to 28 reported vehicle burglaries with 18 of the cases involving unlocked vehicles.
LPD would like to remind residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times and to refrain from leaving any valuables or firearms in plain view inside the vehicle.
Over the past couple of weeks Carencro Police have also issued a number of reminders for people to lock their vehicles.
